History and Outline of Business

Taiyo Sangyo Boeki Kaisha Ltd, known in English name as Taiyo Sangyo Trading and Marine Service Ltd., was established by Takaaki IMADA, the present Chairman, in purpose of securing jobs to those Japanese Merchant Marine who the US NAVY was about to separate from its employment at the end of Viet Nam War.
Mr. T. IMADA himself was one of them.

In the beginning, the main engagement of the company was the repair work of the US NAVY ships at their SRF in Yokosuka. It was, however, only a year and half before the company was asked by MITSUI OSK LINES to manage one of their ships.
Since early 1974, the company has grown as a ship-manager having been entrusted by firms owning ships, or of investors for various kind of ships totaling over 60 in number to this date, and is still growing annually.

In its course of growth, the company started importing consumer goods to develop domestic retail market with variety of merchandises. The ship related articles aside, the company has focused in the market for high-end novelties through major department stores and museum stores all over Japan. It is well known as one of the major suppliers to the aquarium stores all over Japan.

Acquiring production facility at the ex-US NAVAL base at SUBIC Bay, PHILIPPINES the company began building FRP boat of various design in length of up to 50feet.

In commemoration of its twentieth anniversary it acquired own office building (newly built) at its present location.

It opened retail stores for gem stones at strategically selected places in Tokyo and Nagoya.

While the ship it manages has increased, it has acquired first of its own in 2006, the newly built “MUTSU”, followed by three more in 2007.

The rapid expansion of company's own fleet symbolizes the firm's bright future. Though small, the company is being managed aggressively, yet conservatively, for ever steady growth.
